As you guys know, I like to randomly browse through…things. And this evening I spent an hour or so browsing through the forums of YWP.
Then I found something so beautiful and true I HAD to post it here.
It is a beautifully written post by Mr. Rob Diaz, the YWP’s wonderful Moderator.
I think we should all try, to some degree, thinking about the subject of uniqueness. What is it? Does that make us all different or all the same?
Let us thank Mr. Diaz for such a thought-provoking, captivating collection of words.
(Everything beneath that line is written by YWP’s Moderator, Mr. Rob Diaz. If you want to reblog this or share it in any way, please tell your readers clearly who wrote this and be sure to thank him!)
I am an old man (okay, I feel older than I really am). I’ve spent a lot of time staring at the world, watching as one group or another has attempted to proclaim that they are better than some other group. Sometimes, even amongst our friends and peers we can’t agree on things. But, usually, we can agree to disagree.
And, usually, we can learn from each other.

Hey guys, I’m back!
Nanowrimo is over! And we’ve all won! In a way!
For me, I’ve only got 34246 words down on the computer screen, which is 15754 words below my original wordcount. But that’s 34246 words more than I had at the beginning of November! That’s 34246 more words to add to Casya’s story! And I see that as a double win.
I’m going to leave my store alone for a few months (even though it’s not yet finished) and pursue other activities for now. I admit Excavated wasn’t as well written as Masqueraded, but right now I’m taking a little time off.
So, hullah baloo to everyone who won! You’re awesome! And a double, triple hullah baloo to people who didn’t. Take the months off, enjoy some Christmas crackers and eat some turkeys, open some presents are play with snow (unfortunately that doesn’t go for me because it doesn’t snow here) and get booted up for April’s Camp Nanowrimo, or spend a year getting prepped for next year’s Nanowrimo.
MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR!
(hey, we all need some Effie Trinket spirit in our lives, right? I mean, who DOESN’T love her fantastic make-up in the movies? Just look at those eyelashes!)
Because…I’m not supposed to post today! I’m supposed to post tomorrow. BUT I’m going to anyway because Nano Update 1.9 just sounds so cool!
Wordcount goal: 50000
Total words written: 18002
Words remaining: 31998
I’m pretty proud of myself for getting this far, even though I AM about 2000 words behind my goal. Good luck to everyone else participating! How’re you all coping?
Is anyone actually ahead of their wordcount goal?
Friendly Warning: From here on I’m veering off Nanowrimo and telling you about my visit to the ceramics museum 🙂
My cousin came round this Saturday and we took a trip to the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum.
I’m going to shut up now and let you look at some photos in peace 🙂

Hey everyone! I’ve vanished for a long time, but that’s because I’m pretty busy writing my Nanowrimo novel, Excavated!
I’m at 10228 words right now, which is not the best, but between homework, distractions,
all the awesome things on the Internet, like my new favourite blog-Ink and Quills, I have a few thousand words to catch up on, plus get Casya moving on her way!
Good luck to everyone else who’s doing Nanowrimo…always remember to tell yourself
Oh, and don’t we forget…on the count of 3…
Good luck, Wrimos!
This is a quick post just to notify everyone that I’ve changed the theme for Oh Solace. The header looks a little empty right now, but I’m going to design an image soon!
The second reason for this post is that Nanowrimo is starting in about 6 hours (for me)!! I’m super excited and a little frenzied too, because I haven’t got all the plots figured out properly. However, I’m simply going to enjoy myself, and with a happy mood, I’m sure the plots with string themselves up!
And, for any other Nanowrimo participants, I wish you the best of luck! I know we can do this! Just write on and you’ll find yourself with something beautiful. No matter the crappy spelling or illogical plot lines, just keep putting words on the page…rock on, Wrimos!
The Nanowrimo 2016 Prep Season had begun (long ago)!
Here’s my Participant banner…
I’m going to put it up in the sidebar soon.
Anyways, this post is a little late, and I’m sure you’re all bursting to write, which means you’ve put together your gear packs already. I know I’ve got my writer brain on (I’ve dumped my regular brain somewhere else…I might have lost it already…but who cares 😉 ), and my table’s going into a writerly mess (a.k.a. tangle of pens, paper, notebooks, sticky notes and god knows what. Maybe I’ve even got a hidden wormhole somewhere and one sunny morning in November I’m going to fall into it and come out in Mars). Which I LOVE!
I should start writing this post…it’s nearly eight now…and I want to keep reading One Comes Home by Amy Timberlake…

The Nano season is upon us!! Which means that I’ll be working my brain non-stop, and constantly chugging up plot bunnies!
One unfortunate thing is that you’ll see less of me blogging-wise. I’ll probably post once a week until the end of November, and twice if I can manage. But that doesn’t mean one post per week. I might write multiple posts, so that’s good news.
Saturday is posting day, and I’ll keep to that if I can (b
ut I can’t!!). I need to spend some more time with my characters or they’ll become orphans!!!
I’ve pinned up my story mountain and started a new notebook! I’ll be writing another post about Nanowrimo Updates, including the exciting news that is The New YWP Site!
Anyways, I’ve thought up half of Excavated already, and I’m happy to say that Casya will get a proper parent (two, actually), Meredith with appear one way or the other, and Ryker will definitely stick with Casya all the way through.
My word count this time is still 50000 words…*inhales*….CAN I DO IT????????????
We’ll have to see……………………….. 🙂
